This Week - 11.02.2020
Guest Speaker - Michael Redding - Wheelchairs 4 Vietnam
Our guest speaker was President Elect Michael Redding speaking on the Wheelchairs 4 Vietnam Project.
Last year RCW committed funds to purchase 2 wheelchairs, and Lori Rowe/Flemington Rotary committed for another two.
Michael's friend in Hue, Vietnam, Dung Nguyen was able to identify four worthy recipients. None of the four have movement below the waist. The chairs were manufactured in Vietnam. They move forward by moving the steering wheel forward & backwards. The chairs were delivered to the recipients by Michael & Dung. You can see the look of joy on the face of the recipients who suddenly have mobility.
The chairs can be purchased & delivered for around A$400, and we are able to see the results first hand. Well done Michael.

Vocational Visits
The Vocational Committee has organised a visit to barramundi breeders, Mainstream Aquaculture.
As they can only take 20 per visit & the trip takes a bit over an hour, half the club can go on 03.03.2020 and the other half on 10.03.2020.
Jim Randall will send a list around next week. RCW members & family have first priority.
After each visit, a BBQ dinner will be held at Maddalon Transport, just up the road in Lock Ave.
