This Week - 30.06.2020
Our Online Changeover, and guest DG Philip Archer.
New DG Philip Archer spoke about the challenges facing Rotary in 2020/2021.
Phillip has asked presidents to focus on:
- Assisting people who have lost jobs due to Covid
- Address the homeless in your region
- Engage with corporate partners to promote Rotary, and enter into partnerships.
DG Phillip's club Southbank has increased membership by engaging with millennials & corporate partners. He offered to discuss their strategy with our club.
Phillip suggested a District Conference in 2021 was unlikely, and efforts are underway for 'A Party' at the Showgrounds in May 2021, which will be a combined conference & music festival.
Outgoing President Brian Ahmed
Brian thanked the club for their support during a really difficult year. Despite the disruption, the club completed a significant number of projects.

Brian thanked his 2019/2020 Board for their support.
New President Michael Redding
Pres Michael introduced his new board for 2020/2021.
- President - Michael Redding
- Vice Pres - Colin Muir
- Secretary - Kim Deneys
- Treasurer - Wendy Roper
- Past Pres - Brian Ahmed
- Pres Elect - Graham Roper
- Directors - Katheryn Williams, Robert Fava, Joe Cumbo, Anthony Pante & James Randall
The big change Michael will introduce in 2020/2021, is that every member will choose a project that they want to support for the year, rather than committees running projects.
The major project for the year will be the Beyond Blue Cup, supporting youth mental health.

WERN (Western Emergency Relief Network)
WERN opened this week, and a large number of consultants are booked in to choose furniture for clients.
Thanks to Kim Deneys friend Kim Monk, who donated his mothers furniture, which we picked up and dropped at WERN on 30.06.2020.
All members should be aware, that WERN is in constant need of good quality furniture. If you know someone who is getting rid of furniture give Ross or Rob Fava a call.
Remember the furniture needs to be good condition. WERN doesn't have the resources to clean furniture, or repair broken furniture. They need - kitchen tables & chairs, dining room tables & chairs, lounge suits, book shelves, fridges, washing machines, blankets, plates, cuttlery etc.
WERN is in need of volunteers to work from their Derrimut factory. They open Tuesday to Thursday. There are jobs for men & ladies. If you can spend a half a day or a full day each week, WERN needs you. Give Ross or Rob a call if you can help.
