PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
President’s Message

We all share in the Rotary Centenary Celebration Cake!

Thank you to Lorry Rowe and several of her team members from the Fit4Use Shop, who made a surprise visit this week. They wanted to share with us the Rotary Centenary Cake that they had received from the Rotary Club of Flemington-Yarraville.

The large sponge cake was covered in white icing with the words Rotary Centenary Australia & NZ on top. Each person was all able to have a slice of the delicious cake.

Lorry was accompanied by Fit4Use helpers, Sue Guardino, Len & Lyn Marshall and Carmen Cahill.

Welcome visit from Wyndham Rotary Club members

It was great to catch up with President Michael Lapina, Alex Lapina (his son), Phil & Jill Hartcher and Len & Lyn Marshall from the Wyndham Rotary Club at this week’s meeting.

I am hoping that our members may be able to make similar visits to the other Clubs in the Chirnside Cluster during this year.

Words from The Two Michaels:

Pres. Michael (Werribee RC) spoke about the joint Projects which our Clubs have been participating in together:

· Breakfast Club at Wyndham Park PS

· Werribee Salvos Food Van on Fridays at Werribee Station

· Australia Day celebrations on Jan 26th in the City of Wyndham

· Charter Gift of an inscribed Dinner Gong presented to Eynesbury Rotary

Pres. Michael (Wyndham RC) invited our members, partners and friends to make a booking for the Music Of The Night evening of musical entertainment and scrumptious food to be held on Sun, May 16th at the Italian Sports Club of Werribee.

All proceeds from this Wyndham Rotary special event will go towards supporting those impacted by Domestic Violence. The cost is $80 pp and bookings are essential. Book at the ISCW: Ph 9741 1225 or online at https://iscwcom.au.event/

Excellent result for the Mansion Fun Run on May 2nd

Vas (Vasilious) Samaltanos did a great job in taking over the reins to supervise the Club’s involvement in this year’s Mansion Run. The 9 marshalls he organized raised a total of $675 for the Club.

Well done Vas on achieving such a successful result for your first time in leading a Club Project!

Footy Tipping - Round 7
Round 7 was a tough week for tipping, with most people not tipping half of the winners.

Graham Roper got the $10 for closest margin on Friday night - 2 points.

Four lucky tippers got 5 out of 9 - Happy Golfer, Ian Hovey, Ross Smith & Tino Ballan.
Seven tippers managed 4, and our leader after round 6 Ross Conley only managed 3.

The leaderboard after 7 rounds is;
  • Brian Ahmed 42
  • Ross Conley 41
  • Happy Golfer 41
  • Ian Hovey 41
  • Ann Smith 41
  • Tony Todaro 41
Its getting tight at the top of the leaderboard, and tippers might have to think about tipping against their own team, to stay at the top?
