Werribee River Cliffs
From President Kim:
  • Peter Ross is due home this week, after a five week stint in a Geelong Hospital, after a fall on New Years Day. His pelvis has healed well, and he is up and walking around. His broken shoulder had to be immobilised for 4-5 weeks, and he is starting and exercise program to get the arm working again. Get well Peter.
  • Bingo is back, with 128 players and a profit of $2,000 yesterday. We expect numbers to pick up as people are returning from holidays.
  • The Board has agreed to provide $5,000 to Team Sports 4 All, to sponsor a number of Wyndham kids into a sporting team. Werribee Rotary will be recognised on the Team Sport polo shirts.
  • We have been allocated three Thursday BBQ's at Bunnings. 29th Feb, 28th March & 18th April. 28th March is the day before Good Friday and should be a good one.
  • Last week, the state government held a press conference ay Wyndham Park Primary, to recognise Foodbank providing the 40 millionth breakfast meal to state schools. How they came up with the 40 million is questionable. Unfortunately the press conference hardly mentioned Breakfast Club, and focused on other Government business.
  • Next week our meeting will be at the Italian Sports Club on Thursday 15th at 6.30pm. All of the successful Community Grant Awardees, will give a presentation on hoe they intend to use the grant funds. Five Werribee councillors are coming as well as the DG elect & our Assistant Governor. Partners are welcome. Rob Fava needs to know if you are coming for catering purposes, so give him a call. The meal will be alternate Fish or chicken, so let Rob know if you have dietary requirements.

Western Emergency Relief Network (WERN)
WERN has around 50 families a month accessing our services, which requires a massive amount of donated goods.
We never have enough goods, and we are always looking for more donations. Keep WERN in mind let your friends, neighbours and families know  that we need good quality goods. Click on the link below to see the list of items that WERN will take. If you have goods for collection, call Peter Nichols on 0476 104 738 or email him
WERN has a large range of diverse activities, that need volunteers to assist us with. There are light duties, such as sorting goods, packing shelves etc. We also need people to maintain the warehouse, and keep our warehouse sorted. We are always looking for truck drivers and jockeys.
If you know anybody who can work for as little as half a day, on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, give Ross Smith or Rob Fava a call.
