We didn't meet on Tuesday night this week, and instead a group of out members attended the Chirnside Cluster - Rotary In Action night on Wednesday.
The Rotary Clubs of the Chirnside Cluster - Hoppers Crossing, Laverton Point Cook, Werribee, Wyndham and Wyndham Harbour, put on the night to showcase Rotary. There was over 100 people in attendance.
Our golf day is fast approaching (Friday 10th March) and organisation is going well thanks to the great work of Ross Conley.
The golf field is full and we can't fit any more players on the course. Nearly 150 people have expressed an interest in attending the lunch.
There are lots of tasks we have to do on Thursday 9th to set up the course, during the day, and after lunch on Friday packing everything up. Ross Conley will be sending out the Volunteer Task sheet in a few days. If you can help for an hour or two let Ross know, as we need volunteers.
At our last Board meeting, the Board agreed that we will contribute $15,000 towards a new wheelchair access bus at Manor Court Aged Care. Hoppers Crossing will also contribute $15,000, and the balance will come from a government grant. Manor Courts current bus only holds one wheelchair, and is no longer suitable for groups of residents with higher acuity & needs. Werribee Rotary started Manor Court in the 1970's and have been involved ever since.
I will be having a few weeks up the country, but will be coming back and forward for some essential events.
President elect Kim will be running next weeks meeting.
