ALPHABET RACING

Despite her favouritism, Anne of Green Grasses couldn't make hay while the sun shone and she was mowed down by her rivals at Pakenham on Saturday. It just wasn't her day.

The points were spread around but it was two of the slower nags, Nothin' Like a Dane and Tosser Ross, who both collected 6 points and shared the $15 first prize.

At Rosehill Gardens it was a completely different  story. As expected, Handy Andi wiped the floor with her competitors. She picked up a massive 14 points and bagged $15 all on her own. Coming from the rear of the field, she found a gap along the rails and flashed past a group of geldings who were caught by surprise.

Mr Sandlant has increased his lead after a solid effort. The crowd is cheering him on as he limps towards victory. Over the noise, you can just hear his trainer yelling out from the stand. He seems to be shouting "Hey Mr Sandlant, bring me a dream".

Mad Dog Muir is still second but is now 3 lengths back and gasping for every breath. In equal 3rd, a further 7 lengths behind, are a fading Lady Wade and Rob the Boxer who seems to be galloping up and down on the one spot. Their positions on the podium are under threat from Demon Ann and Snapper Steve who may snatch a minor placing but they will need some luck in the last 3 meetings.
