Tom is the grandson of legendary horse trainer Colin Hayes, who dominated Sth Australia horse racing, and was a major player in eastern state horse racing.

David has a spell of training in Hong Kong, and Tony McEvoy took over the operations.
Following David's return to Australia, he went into a training partnership with cousin Tom, and commenced the development of a 'new' Lindsay Park at Euroa in Northern Victoria. (Lindsay Park SA was sold)
Eurora is a state of the art training facility, with 7 individual training tracks for all weather surfaces, stables, pools, aggistment, walking facilities, and staff accommodation. The business employs 150 staff of which 1/3rd live on the property, and the rest live locally.
Tom concluded his presentation with a tip at Sandown races on Wednesday. It started favourite but finished fourth. (Never listen to a trainer as they are the worst tippers of all time)
